Magic Mitch (The Merlin of Margate) recently received a Wizard Award from the International Brotherhood of Magicians. We’re not sure if this was for his superior magic, his balloon modelling excellence or just that he has been a member of the IBM for a very long time, but whatever it was, well done Mitch!!!
Posted by Colin on August 10, 2010Last August Duncan Bannatyne was in Ramsgate filming at the Westcliff Leisure Park for a new series called Duncan Bannatyne Seaside Rescue. The show finally airs on Tuesday 6th April on Virgin1. If you watch the show you might see a few familiar faces.
Posted by Colin on March 30, 2010It’s that time again. Allan, Alan, Mitch, Sean and John are all off to Blackpool Magic Convention for a weekend of incredible magic and really bad jokes. Don’t forget to check our new Live Blog for all the latest news from the convention as it happens.
Posted by Colin on February 19, 2010As part of the Guide Centenary Celebrations Mitch Ian and Colin taught over 350 rainbows, brownies and guides how to make balloon animals.
Everyone took part during the day. By the end of the afternoon we must have blown up over 500 balloons, but it was worth it.
I think Mitch at this point Mitch has had enough.
Posted by Colin on September 5, 2009Thanks to Mitch for organinsing a great magic night and BBQ. Here are some of the highlights.

As usual, Allan has a few old jokes to share with us all

Colin performs some sleight of hand with cards while Sean tries some sleight of tongue with a wooden spoon - ouch!!!!

Posted by Colin on April 1, 2009We all enjoyed an excellent Christmas Meal at the Captiain Digby pub in Kingsgate. Not much magic this year but the food was great. Mitch amazed everyone with his brilliant new trick.

Thanks to Allan for organising it.
Posted by Colin on December 29, 2008On December 23rd Colin had the chance to do a magic show and make balloons as part of a party for children at the Q.E.Q.M Hospital in Margate. The children were either going to be in hospital over Christmas or had spent a long period of time in hospital over the last year. There was also face painting, a disco, food and a visit from Father Christmas.
It was a great afteroon and all the staff at the hospital worked really hard to organise it. As an added bonus a film crew from Meridian Tonight turned up to film it for the evening news and Colin had a brief appearance in the report.
Posted by Colin on December 23, 2008One of the highlights of the evening during the Southern Sorcerers recent appearance on Children in Need was meeting legendary broadcaster and weather presenter Kaddy Lee-Preston.

On Friday 14th November we appeared live on BBC Children in Need to present a cheque for £560 that was raised during our recent Magic and Variety Show. Allan did well with his sponge ball trick and Mitch waved his sponge bannana about a bit.
Posted by Colin on November 15, 2008On Saturday 1st of November The Southern Sorcerers held another of their occasional Magic and Variety shows. This time it was at the Birchington Village Centre.
Most of the members took part in the show and everyone had great time. Unfortunately Mitch couldn’t be there due to work commitments. Guest acts included juggler Michael Pearce, singer Rob Mutley, dancing from The Page-Mason Dancers and winner of the International Brotherhood of Magicians “Stage Magician of the Year” Jonathon Shotton.
We raised over £500 during the evening which will be donated to BBC Children in Need. Click here to see photos from the show.
Thank you to everyone who supported the show and well done to those who took part.
