One of the highlights of the evening during the Southern Sorcerers recent appearance on Children in Need was meeting legendary broadcaster and weather presenter Kaddy Lee-Preston.

Children in Need

On Friday 14th November we appeared live on BBC Children in Need to present a cheque for £560 that was raised during our recent Magic and Variety Show.  Allan did well with his sponge ball trick and Mitch waved his sponge bannana about a bit.

Another Successful Show

On Saturday 1st of November The Southern Sorcerers held another of their occasional Magic and Variety shows.  This time it was at the Birchington Village Centre.

Most of the members took part in the show and everyone had great time. Unfortunately Mitch couldn’t be there due to work commitments. Guest acts included juggler Michael Pearce, singer Rob Mutley, dancing from The Page-Mason Dancers and winner of the International Brotherhood of Magicians “Stage Magician of the Year” Jonathon Shotton.

We raised over £500 during the evening which will be donated to BBC Children in Need.  Click here to see photos from the show.

Thank you to everyone who supported the show and well done to those who took part.

Portsmouth Magic Day 2008

Only Chris, Allan and Alan were able to go to the Portsmouth Day of Magic this year. Here is what Allan had to say,

“We had a lovely drive down in perfect conditions and found loads of bargains when we got there. Geoffrey Durham’s lecture was very good and the close-up was brilliant – there wasn’t one duff act. Then there was the video session (and a chance for a sleep).”

“The Gala show was also very good. The first act on was somebody we had never heard of before, but his one-liners were great. The second act was an American who had flown over especially and who did loads of visual comedy magic. We also saw Peter Wardell with his hilarious street magicians act and Marc Oberon’s with an act that was soooo polished. A brilliant day out!”
